Experiment Study on the Performance of a Submerged Modified Pile Supported Inclined Breakwater

Abstract

This paper presents an experiment study on the performance of a modified pile supported inclined breakwater. An inclined plate length of 2.0m, width of 67cm, thickness of 4cm, the square pyramid serrated 4 x 4 cm (footing part) and 3 x 3 cm (heading part) with height of 3.33cm fixed in parallel configuration associtated with square holds dimension of 5 x 5 cm, depth range from 0.4 cm to 1.5 cm, three slopes inclined plated of m=1, m=1.33 and m=1.5, and the crest of inclined plate fixed equal with the water level is testing with irrigular waves. The influence of wave steepness, relative depth, and slope of inclined plate on wave reflection and wave transmission were analysed. It is found that the inclined plate with slope of 1.33 more effective in reducing the wave transmision.
