Performance Improvement of Direct Torque and Flux Controlled AC Motor Drive
This paper gives more focus on steady-state performance of DTC IM drive which degrades by motor parameter and transduction errors. The responsible parameter of IM needed to measure is stator resistance, which utilized flux and helps in estimation of stator current. Variation in Rs causes large ripples in torques during IM operation and leads to drive instability. In order to minimize the torque ripples, space vector modulation scheme for selecting optimum voltage vectors for inverter and stator resistance PI compensator is adopted. This work gives the theoretical study of parameter and errors. The findings are given to prove the ability of the modified scheme while comparing with conventional DTC, i.e., DTC with and without stator resistance PI compensator. The complete study has been performed in MATLAB/Simulink environment. Simulation results under different operating conditions are presented along with discussion.
