Abstract

Simulators are an essential part of radiation treatment planning algorithm. Simulation images the patient in pretreatment position with skin surface markers to define the patient isocenter and it also allows ensuring day-to-day reproducibility in treatment delivery. From the era of 2D dimensional imaging the field has rapidly evolved to MRI and metabolic imaging through PET/CT.
