Multilevel inverter technology garnered its attention in the electrical power industry for producing various levels of the output voltage and it is considered as a potential alternative for the high power and medium voltage energy control applications. The cascaded MLI is being used for producing less stress on the switching devices, less distorted output voltage, and for generating a lesser common-mode voltage. The phase shifted PWM is considered as the best solution for H-bridge cascaded inverters. This paper analyzes a simple and flexible phase shifted PWM technique for common-mode voltage reduction of a seven-level H-bridge cascade inverter topology. This cascaded H-bridge MLI system distributes power consistently between the modules and ensures the same power exploitation of inverter switches within a module. The functional verification of the seven-level inverter is done using MATLAB/Simulink software and also presented the fuzzy control system for controlling the system. The experimental work for open loop is done using D-Space.
