Problems and Solutions: The Undergraduate Translator Education in Chinese Mainland

Abstract

The program of undergraduate translator education in Chinese Mainland has been developing for a decade and achieved great progress, as 272 colleges and universities have established translation as a major across the country. This paper will review the whole process of development and try to explore such main problems and challenges as teaching philosophy, curriculum designing and faculty education, with a view to providing some feasible suggestions for a healthy development of Chinese undergraduate translator education.
