Techniques for the Evaluation of Biochemical Factors of Resistance in Crop Plants

The analysis of plants for determining biochemical profile is crucial for elucidating the role of different chemicals in host–plant relationships. The procedures for estimating sugars, lipids, tannins, alkaloids, proteins, amino acids, enzymes and hormones are enumerated in this chapter. The role of antimetabolites/anti-nutritional elements is also highlighted.
