Abstract

Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA) technology has become the best choice to meet the needs of detecting the composition of industrial materials. High count rate is an important indicator of PGNAA and a large size NaI(Tl) detector is used. Two types of base board design are used to provide biasing voltage. “Simple” resistive base board design can not work properly in high count rate condition. The developed design with current source, achieved by transistors, can work properly in high count rate condition and has been greatly improved in various indicators. This paper includes PGNAA introduction, detector system introduction, two types of base board design and test result.
