Effect of Flow Structure on RED Performance

Abstract

We evaluated RED performance using two polymer-woven spacers with open ratios of 37 and 56% under identical experimental conditions. The maximum voltage and maximum power were compared with the inlet flow rate. The effects of ohmic and the nonohmic resistances were analyzed using the current-interrupt method for each spacer. We also investigated variation in the pressure drop to compute the pumping losses. Finally, a comparison of net power was performed for the 37 and 56% spacers.
