Other Uncommon Complications in Neurogenic Bladder Patients When Neuro-Urology Is Not Part of the Health Care System
The practice in Neurourology at INAREPS (Mar del Plata, Argentina) begun in 2008: 50 years after its opening. Until that time the National Institute had never counted on Neurourology within its scheme of Neurorehabilitation. It was especially during the first 2 years of practice that, during the initial evaluation of patients, the diagnoses of the 10 clinical cases presented here were made. Until 2011, the profile of the patients attending the Institute used to be dominated by a low socio-cultural level, and cases of drug abuse, alcohol abuse and delinquency were not uncommon. The combination of these characteristics of the patients, coupled with the lack of a Neurourologist led to the uncommon clinical findings presented in this Chapter.
