On the Association between Egg-white Mucin-globulins and the Resistance of Offspring in the Perinatal Period

Abstract

The aim of the present investigation was to study the effect of the egg-white mucin-globulins on the viability of the embryo and on chick resistance to Salm. gallinarum during the first 3 weeks of life. The hens studied were provided by the Kurtna Poultry Breeding Experimental Station. The study of the effect of the hen was carried out on the four most frequent types of mucin-globulins (ABDD, BBDD, ABCD, and AADD). The chicks were experimentally infected with live cultures of Salin, gallinarum at a dosage rate of 1–3.1 × 107 bacterial cells by injecting the bacterial suspension subcutaneously between the first and the third day after hatching.
