Immunogenetic Study of Allotypes of Pig Serum Proteins Using Isoprecipitins
Immunogenetic study of the polymorphism of serum proteins in pigs was carried out using anti-allotypic isoimmune sera. These sera were abtained by a direct isoimmunization with native sera in the presence of adjuvant or without it. By means of immunodiffusion methods and immunoelectrophoresis 9 serum allotypes depending on group-specific antigens with beta-globulin mobility were identified. Serum samples of 993 pigs from different breeds were tested for hereditary character and allotype allelism. The occurrence of the allotypes varies in the investigated pig breeds. The gene frequencies of allotypes in two genealogically related breeds are reported.
