The Inheritance of Blood Groups in the Blood Group System C in Cattle

Abstract

In the Netherlands, a study has been carried out recently on the phenogroups of the C-system and their frequencies in Dutch cattle breeds. Nearly 50 phenogroups were established, of which those with a frequency of more than 1% have been reported by Nasrat et al. (1964). The first report on the C-system was presented by Stormont et al. (1951) on the distributions of 22 C-system phenogroups in four breeds of cattle in U. S. A. In 1959, information was given by Stormont on the frequencies of 24 C-system phenogroups in three breeds of cattle in U. S. A. Later, in 1962, 35 phenogroups in the C-system have been reported by Stormont.
