TFG- A New Transferrin Allele in Cattle

Polymorphism in bovine serum beta-globulin was described for the first time in 1958 by Smithies and Hickman, and by Ashton. These beta-globulins were proved to be the specific iron-binding proteins of serum (Giblett et al. 1959) and were called transferrins.
