Abstract

The data regarding the relationships between gastrointestinal motility and blood levels of many entero-pancreatic hormones in humans are still controversial. Motilin has been related with cyclic motor activity (1); however, this association has been mainly observed with duodenal motility (2) and has been recently put in doubt (3,4). Although less extensively studied, the similar association has been recently proposed between plasma pancreatic polypeptide (PP) and duodenal motor activity (5)
