Vocational training for family medicine — useful or useless?

Abstract

It has to be accepted that the modern undergraduate medical curriculum does not produce a doctor ready and able at once to undertake independent responsible practice in any field. It does, however, provide a basis on to which further vocational training is essential for family medicine as for any other special field.
