Part of the Astrophysics and Space Science Library book series (ASSL, volume 121)

The optical and radio luminosity functions of Seyfert galaxies for total emission of the systems are briefly reviewed. A project of CCD-photometry aimed at determining a luminosity function for Seyfert nuclei is described. The merits of integrated and nuclear magnitudes with respect to Seyfert luminosity functions are discussed. Finally, a few remarks on systematic survey incompletenesses are made.
