Perhaps it is too much to ask robotic technology to cope with opening hoods, checking oil, water, and batteries on a broad range of different makes of automobiles. But the primary activity in a gas station is pumping gasoline. There are those of us who go along with Jack Nicklaus in wishing to be refueled quickly, with no fuss about the windshield and surely no inane conversation about the weather and other such profundities.
