Abstract

Acne vulgaris is a common-place dermatosis encountered world-wide. According to an extensive Statistical survey by Götz et al. [83], it occurs in about 40% of juveniles, the peak age of onset being about 14 years. However, occasional acne lesions develop in almost all juveniles during puberty, so that, depending on what degree of skin change is considered pathological, an even higher percentage can be claimed.
