Abstract

Carbohydrates are a particularly important type of macromolecule, providing us with a large proportion of our energy from the food we eat. Most people are familiar with carbohydrates in the dietary sense, for example, to lose weight, some individuals adhere to “low‐carb” diets. Athletes, in contrast, often “carbohydrate load” before important competitions to ensure that they will have enough energy to compete at a high level. In the Carbohydrates simulation, you will analyze different carbohydrates at the molecular level, before recommending a training and diet plan to your friend.
