Zusammenfassung

Intrathorakale Tumore betreffen im Kindesalter am häufigsten das Mediastinum und die Thoraxwand, während intrapulmonale Tumore selten sind. Während bei den benignen Lungentumoren bis zu 1/3 der betroffenen Kinder asymptomatisch sind, sind es bei den malignen nur 6 %. Die klinischen Manifestationen sind meist mit dem Masseneffekt der Raumforderungen assoziiert. Sie sind häufig unspezifisch, sodass der bildgebenden Diagnostik eine besondere Bedeutung zukommt. Diese muss der klinischen Situation des Kindes angepasst sein, gleichzeitig aber auch Strahlenschutzaspekte berücksichtigen. Im folgenden Kapitel werden häufige und seltene Tumoren des Mediastinums, der Lunge und der Thoraxwand im Kindesalter diskutiert und typische bildgebende Befunde vorgestellt
