Abstract

Bladder carcinoma is the most frequent cancer of the urinary tract [1]. About 90% of bladder cancers are urothelial carcinomas, while the remaining are squamous cell carcinomas, or adenocarcinomas. Bladder cancer is often a superficial tumor which tends to recur locally; however about one-third of the cancers are invasive and they are associated with a high risk of death from distant metastases.
