Deaminases of purines, pyrimidines, nucleosides and nucleotides

Zusammenfassung

The enzymes comprising this group catalyse the hydrolytic cleavage of the amino group in aminopurines and aminopyrimidines. Most of these enzymes possess a high degree of specificity, not only with regard to the particular purine or pyrimidine base, but also depending on whether the substrate is present in the form of the free base, or in combined form as a nucleoside or nucleotide.
