Zusammenfassung

One can hardly read a magazine these days without seeing an interesting story about the wonders of expert systems. This artificial intelligence area focuses on developing programs that can operate at human expert levels in restricted task domains. Such programs use knowledge and inference procedures to solve problems. A recent artificial intelligence conference (Elmer-DeWitt, 1985) showed expert systems have been promptly growing in a wide range of environments. One of these is quality control area.
