Abstract

A number of authoritative textbooks are available on the subject of emission spectroscopy and deal thoroughly with the fundamental principles of the technique. Some of the more recent books are those of Moenke [1],Mika and Torok [2], Grove [3], Addink [4] and Slavin [5]. In addition, a number of excellent reviews [6, 7] or abstracts [8] are published at regular intervals. Other useful publications are the ASTM book [9], the IUPAC recommendations on terminology [10] and several compilations of atomic wavelengths [11 – 14].
