Abstract

A stricture is an abnormal narrowing of a tubular structure such as the anorectum. Such narrowings may be classified according their etiology, location, length, and severity. They may be the result of a malignant or a benign process [3]. Malignant lesions may be intrinsic or extrinsic depending on where the primary lesion is located. Intrinsic lesions are caused by anal carcinoma and rectal tumors, whereas extrinsic ones are mainly the result of urogenital tumors in men and Women.
