Operation of Quality Control Center Based on Multi-Agent Technology

Abstract

Flexible, Reliable and Intelligent ENergy Delivery System (FRIENDS) is a new framework of future electric power systems proposed by the authors. In FRIENDS, new facilities called Quality Control Center (QCC) are installed into the distribution systems, and the electricity with some kinds of quality can be produced in QCC corresponding to the customers’ requirements. This section explains a method for the emergency operation and the voltage regulation in the distribution systems characterized by FRIENDS. The proposed methods are constructed based on the multi-agent technology using bilateral communication between QCCs; therefore, autonomous and distributed operation can be realized.
