Fundamentals of Antenna Theory
Direct solutions of Maxwell’s equations (2.4) to (2.7) are very difficult for all but the simplest configurations. One method is to decouple E and B to obtain the wave equations (2.24) and (2.25). In these equations the E and B fields are independent; even if we found an appropriate solution for the E field in a given situation, there still remains the problem of how to determine the appropriate B field solution so that both fulfill Maxwell’s equations.
