Abstract

Academia provides different definitions to capture the unique nature and characteristics of services. Goedkoop et al. (1999, p. 17) define services as commercial, value-creating activities done for others. Likewise, Baines et al. (2009b, p. 496) regard services as economic activities, which do not ultimately provide the customer with the ownership of tangible assets.
