Value of Preoperative Axillary Sonography in Breast Cancer

Summary

Preoperative axillary sonography is a superior method in predicting axillary lymphnode status than clinical examination in patients with breast cancer. However, the results depend on the skills and care of the examiner, metatases less than 3–5 mm are hardly visible.
