Interventional Endoscopy Using Argon Plasma Coagulation: Experiences in General Surgery

Summary

The results of the application of argon plasma coagulation (APC) in surgical endoscopy on tumorous stenosis of the esophagus and trachea, angiodysplasia and ga-strointenstinal bleeding are presented here. Primary therapeutic goals were always achieved and complications were harmless except one loss after duodenal perforation. We conclude that APC is a useful and easily handled tool in the careful hands of an experienced endoscopist.
