Pulsed NQR in Metallic Arsenic under Pressure

Measurements of the quadrupolar resonance frequency(υq) and the nuclear spin—lattice relaxation time (T1) have been made on samples of rhombohedral arsenic using pulsed NQR up to a pressure of 9 kbar. It is shown that the pressure dependence of T1 may be understood in terms of interactions of the nuclei with carriers at the Fermi surface.
