Muon Tunneling and Spin Relaxation in Iron

Abstract

The literature data 1) for the spin-lattice relaxation of positive muons in Fe are explained 2) from the models of tunneling in two-well potentials, both from interrupted coherent oscillations, and from spin-flip transitions between two-well eigenstates slightly mixed by the dipolar field.
