Study on the Structural Phase Transition in 1, 2, 4, 5-Tetrachlorobenzene
At about 188 K 1, 2, 4, 5-Tetrachlorobenzene (TCB) undergoes a crystallographic phase transition from a high temperature monoclinic β-phase to a low temperature triclinic α-phase. Both phases contain 2 molecules per primitive unit cell (1–3). The NQR spectra detected are consistent with these crystal structures (4–7). In this work the temperature dependence of the NQR spectra is reported an analyzed.
