Rotational Viscosity in a Re-entrant Liquid Crystal Mixture — a NMR Study

Abstract

Rotational viscosity coefficient (γ1) has been measured in a binary liquid crystal mixture (60CB + 80CB) as a function of relative concentration and temperature using pulsed NMR method. Associated activation energy is found to be dependent on this concentration. The results suggest difference in dynamical environment in the nematic and re—entrant nematic phases.
