Polymorphic Crystal Structure of Poly(P-Phenylene Sulphide) by 1H NMR Method

Abstract

The X-ray diffraction data [1] for heat-treated and stretched poly (p-phenylene sulphide) (PPS), show the orthorombic crystal structure, but there is discrepancy between the theoretical second moment deduced from this structure and the experimental value [2, 3]. It has been suggested £33 that there exists a more closer packing of PPS chains. The support of this idea is also provided by minimalization of the interaction energies for low molecular phenylene sulphide [4].
