Lanthanide (III) Ions Coordination and Water Mobility in Aqueous Solutions: Solvent Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation Study

Abstract

Proton and deutron spin-lattice relaxation rates have been measured in aqueous solutions of some rare-earth salts for the 263 K - 313 K temperature range. The proton relaxation data were used to study the influence of anions on the first solvation shell of the lanthanide ions. The deuteron data present information on the structure of ionic solvation shells and water mobility in the vicinity of cations and anions.
