AB Initio Calculations of Zero-Field Splitting in Nickel(II) Complexes: Implications for Electron and Nuclear Spin Relaxation

Abstract

A non-empirical method for calculations of the zero-field splitting (ZFS) in transition metal complexes is presented and applied to several nickel(II) complexes. The implications of the results for the electron and nuclear spin relaxation are discussed.
