19F-Spin-Lattice Relaxation of PF6- Intercalated in Graphite

Abstract

Second stage graphite intercalation compounds were prepared by intercalation of PF 6 - and nitromethane into HOPG. The temperature dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation rate between 50–300 K reveals three maxima, which we attribute to anisotropic rotations and diffusive motion. The angular dependence of T1 is measured at different temperatures.
