Abstract

Nowadays magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an established imaging modality for cerebral and spinal tumours. In the diagnosis of abdominal masses MRI is slightly superior to CT in the visualization of focal liver lesions. For other intraabdominal masses there is no significant superiority of MRI in relation to the wellestablished abdominal CT, especially because of motion artefacts and less spatial resolution of MRI.
