Abnormal Enhancements After Contrast Injection

Two factors are involved in the enhancement of pathological processes at CT : the vascular pool and extra-vascular diffusion of the contrast agent. Enhancement is of considerable use in visualising and delineating these pathologies but is of only limited interest as regards their characterisation.
