Zusammenfassung
Die SIH und die Präeklampsie sind heute weltweit mit einer Inzidenz von bis zu 15% bzw. 10% wichtige Ursachen mütterlicher und fetaler Morbidität und Mortalität. Daher ist die Ursachenforschung ein zentrales Anliegen der geburtshilflichen Forschung, aber auch für die Krankenversorgung ist dieses Krankheitsbild von eminenter Bedeutung. Darüber hinaus ist auf das große Wiederholungsrisiko nach überstandener Eklampsie hinzuweisen, das nach der Literatur 20–35% für eine Präeklampsie und 1–2% für eine Eklampsie beträgt.
