Numerically Simulated Flow Separation on Airfoil of High Angle of Attack
The separated flows around an aerofoil at high angle of attack were numerically simulated, and the effect of Reynolds number on the time-dependent and time-averaged characteristics of the flows was investigated. As a possible alternative which is much more cost effective than the Navier-Stokes analysis, the wake displacement body method was investigated to examine its applicability to the separated flows on aerofoils of high angle of attack, which are under consideration in this paper.
