Experimental investigation on the influence of the starting process of the nozzle of shock tunnel on the operating condition of shock tube

Abstract

In this paper, an interaction between the flows coming from two single facilities(a shock tube and a shock tunnel) in a combination facility was observed and investigated experimentally. The results indicate that the starting process of the nozzle of shock tunnel has a considerable influence on the operating condition of shock tube. Such kind of interactions are important for the synchronized operation of a combination facility which consists of a shock tube and a shock tunnel.
