A Simulation Environment For the Real-time Testing of Telecommunication Algorithms

Abstract

The paper deals with debugging and testing of telecommunication algorithms. The development system based on TMS320C5x DSPs is described. A method of successive design and evaluation of DSP algorithms and the control of data transfer procedures is discussed. The data transfer is realized between various ports of a simple processor and between two processors by the use of the serial port communications. The DSP Starter Kit or Evaluation Module as a system hardware is employed. The software includes the library of signal processing modules, DSP debugger, visual environment and transfer noise emulator. Some synchronization problems in two modules’ configurations are considered.
