Introspection and Measurement of Subjective Pain Experience

  • Bobby NouraniEmail author

A patient’s subjective experience and description of pain is based on his or her introspective state. The introspective state can be influenced by past experiences, psyche, and psychosocial dynamics. Despite certain limitations, a patient’s description and rating of pain is a valid and useful tool in the clinical setting.
