Abstract

Public affairs is basically perceived as the opening and using of channels to portray a message. Yet, it is much more than that! Even though channels are at the heart of representation, they are determined by circumstances, both which are within or outside the control of the lobbyist. These can vary from volcanic eruptions to what food is served at the networking dinner. This article provides a theoretical approach and specific examples on what can determine the context for creating a successful lobbying outcome, with immediate and/or long-term effect.
