Abstract

Palou-Loverdos offers a comparative legal assessment of post-conflict challenges and achievements in Spain, Rwanda, and Colombia. Drawing on the Greek term Pharmakon as both remedy and poison, he examines the mechanisms which each of these three countries have used to deal with post-conflict scenarios, including legislation, truth and reconciliation fora, material and symbolic reparations, memorials, museums, and public acts of remembrance. Detailing the progress of each country, Palou-Loverdos thus provides a singularly comprehensive assessment of achievements, challenges, and the work remaining to be done in each case.
