Frontal sinus surgery represents a considerable surgical challenge, given the narrow anatomic confines and need for technical skill with angled scopes and instruments. The advent of rigid endoscopes, refinement of frontal hand and powered instrumentation, and introduction of image guidance has facilitated the development of frontal sinus surgery. Indeed, majority of primary and revision frontal sinus disease can now be managed via the endoscopic route. The requisite availability of the complete set of frontal sinus instrumentation, angled microdebriders and drills, and surgical navigation are key to successful execution of the surgical steps. This chapter outlines the salient instrumentation and technology employed in the contemporary surgical paradigm for frontal sinus surgery.
