The Legacy of a Lie: Contemporary Antisemitism and Its Future
Antisemites who survived the war, former Nazis and officers of the SS, escaped to Sweden, South America, and certain Arab states. They took with them their beliefs and the need to justify them anew. The Protocols undoubtedly remained in their hearts and some still endorse what it represents. They probably know nothing of the past. And, even if they do, what they know undoubtedly derives from neo-Nazis like David Irving and Fred Leuchter, tendentious authors like Ernst Nolte and Robert Faurisson, or “revisionist” journals like the Historical Review. All of them were intent only on mitigating the immensity of the Holocaust and the historical role of antisemitism.
