The very important Chap. 12 about forced waves and oscillations and methods of its excitations in waveguides and resonators is the last chapter in our textbook. Up to now, we have placed great emphasis on fundamental waves in waveguides and fundamental oscillations in resonators. Now, it is time to remember the golden rule of electrodynamics (Sect. 2.2). Its sense consists in desirable and necessary continuous coupling between the field and outside sources, which do not depend upon the field under investigation.
